Vidable is a video intelligence platform. It analyzes a video and provides a number of analytics including company mentions, name mentions, and a summary of what was talked about.
We use Microsoft Video Analyzer tool to provide the intelligence for this platform. The key to this digital product and all products is the user experience. These days implementing AI solutions is easier, but it still comes down to what value does the solution offer your customers/stakeholders
Challenge
Vidable faced the challenge of providing detailed, actionable insights from video content, including detecting company mentions, name mentions, and summarizing conversations. The core difficulty was processing and analyzing large volumes of video data efficiently, extracting relevant information in real-time, and presenting it in a way that users could easily understand and act upon. Additionally, the platform needed to handle diverse video content types and provide highly accurate results to ensure that users could trust the analytics being provided.
The Importance of User Experience
It is easy to get sucked into the world of AI and all the fancy stuff it can do.
This case study is a classic example of understanding the user experience before starting development. To do this, we design screens in Figma. This allows stakeholders to test out the workflow and better understand the user experience.
The user experience includes answering these questions:

These questions are not often easy to answer. And often the initial design and hypothesis is not correct. Often at the start of a project you don't know what you don't know. So you must remain flexible and agile, be willing to change if things are not working as envisioned.
AI
The actual AI piece is often a very small part of the project. Understanding the user experience, preparing the data and building the application layer often take 90+% of the project time and effort. All this needs to happen so that the AI tools can create next level experiences and value.
Solution
Video Analysis
Developed an advanced video processing system capable of accurately identifying company names, people, and key topics within video content. Using natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning models, the platform was able to parse audio and video data to detect specific mentions and extract relevant details.
Analytics Dashboard
Created an intuitive, user-friendly dashboard that allows users to view and analyze the key metrics extracted from the video, including company mentions, name mentions, and summaries of the conversation. This dashboard provided easy navigation and visualization tools for users to interpret and act on the insights provided.
Scalability
Implemented a scalable cloud-based architecture to handle large volumes of video content and perform real-time analysis, ensuring that the platform could scale as the number of users and videos grew.
Integration Capabilities
Integrated the platform with existing enterprise tools, allowing seamless sharing and use of the extracted insights across different systems and workflows.
